Gayathri Srinivasan
I started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of five. I have been trained in the Kalakshetra style by my gurus Jayalakshmi Eshwar from Abhinay- Delhi and Krishnaveni Lakshmanan from Kalakshetra- Madras.
My debut performance (Arangetram) was in September 1988.
I am interested in all types of dance styles and in applying their influence in my choreography. Besides bharatanatyam, I have learnt jazz, social Dance and some folk dances of India. I enjoy teaching dance and doing choreography.
I am currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow at MIT
